Bhangra Dancing


Today year 5 have done Bhangra dancing. Bhangra comes from Punjab in the north of India. We all enjoyed it very much although it was hard work and we were all out of breath.We danced to live music and a recorded track. PE & CM

Today we have been learning about India. A man came to teach us an Indian celebration dance. We all had lots of fun and were very excited about it!!!

    Bhangra dancing comes from punjab which in the north of india!! It can be danced at aany celebration or festival.

    I learnt that Bhangra dancing is a punjabi foke dance which was to be celebrated in harvest it lator became known as Bhangra dancing

    Bhangra dance began as a folk dance conducted by punjabi farmers in 11th century to celebrate the coming of the harvest season.
